SLAB SCANNING SERVICEs
High-precision scanning of concrete slabs to detect rebar, post-tension cables, conduits, voids and structural anomalies
PERTH & REGIONAL WA
Know What’s Inside Your Slab Before You Cut, Core or Drill
Slab scanning is a critical safety step before any structural modification. Concrete slabs often contain rebar, post-tension (PT) cables, electrical conduits, plumbing lines and embedded services — all of which pose major risks if struck during coring, cutting or drilling.
We provide professional slab scanning services across Perth and Regional WA, using advanced Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and electromagnetic locating to map what lies within concrete slabs on commercial sites, industrial projects, rural properties and residential homes.
Whether you’re preparing for a fit-out, creating core holes, installing services or assessing slab integrity, our technicians deliver clear, detailed and reliable results every time.
What We DETECT
We scan all slab types - suspended slabs, slabs on ground, multi-storey concrete levels and tilt-up structures - to identify everything inside the concrete.
Our slab scanning detects reinforcement steel and maps the depth, layout and spacing of rebar across any slab type. We also locate post-tension cables, including tendons, ducts and anchor points, ensuring these high-risk elements are avoided during invasive works.
In addition, we identify electrical conduits, plumbing lines, fibre and comms services embedded inside the slab. Our GPR systems also highlight voids, honeycombing, delamination and variations in slab thickness, helping assess overall structural integrity before work begins.

FAQs
-
Cutting into a slab without scanning can strike reinforcement steel, hit PT cables, damage conduits or weaken the structural integrity of the concrete. Scanning ensures your work is safe, compliant and prevents costly damage or delays.
-
Yes. Using GPR and electromagnetic technology, we can detect electrical conduits, plumbing lines, fibre and communications services embedded within the slab, helping avoid hazardous or expensive strikes.
-
Absolutely. We scan all slab types, including suspended slabs, ground slabs, tilt-up structures, mezzanine floors and multi-storey concrete levels. Each scan is adapted to suit the slab’s thickness and construction.
-
Depth varies depending on slab density and reinforcement, but most scans reach between 150mm and 400mm. For thicker slabs, we adjust our scanning method to capture the clearest and most reliable data possible.
-
No. Slab scanning is 100% non-invasive and does not damage the concrete surface. It is quiet, clean and safe to perform during ongoing site operations without causing interruptions.
