REBAR SCANNING SERVICES
High-precision detection of rebar, post-tension cables, conduits and structural elements within concrete slabs and walls
PERTH & REGIONAL WA
Know What's Inside Your Concrete Before You Drill, Cut or Core
Rebar scanning is essential for any project involving drilling, cutting, coring or modifying concrete. Striking reinforcement steel, post-tension cables or hidden conduits can cause major structural damage, safety hazards, costly repairs and schedule blowouts.
We provide professional rebar scanning services across Perth and Regional WA, using advanced Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and electromagnetic technology to identify reinforcement patterns, locate post-tension cables, detect conduits and map structural elements within concrete.
Whether you're working on a large commercial project, inspecting a rural structure, or carrying out renovations at home, our technicians deliver fast, clear and precise scanning results you can rely on.
What We DETECT
We scan all types of concrete structures to identify reinforcement steel, mapping the depth, spacing and layout of rebar within slabs, beams, columns and walls. Our team also locates post-tension (PT) cables, including tendons, ducts and anchorage points, ensuring high-risk structural elements are clearly identified before any invasive work begins.
In addition to reinforcement, we detect conduits and embedded services inside concrete such as electrical lines, plumbing, communications cables and other concealed utilities. Using advanced GPR technology, we can also highlight voids, honeycombing, delamination and variations in slab thickness, helping assess the overall integrity of the concrete. This comprehensive scanning approach supports safe drilling, cutting, coring and structural analysis across all project types.

FAQs
-
Drilling into concrete without scanning can damage structural reinforcement, sever PT cables, hit live electrical conduits or compromise the integrity of the slab. Scanning ensures safety, prevents costly repairs and keeps your project compliant with WA construction standards.
-
Yes. We accurately detect PT tendons, ducts and anchor points within concrete. These are high-risk structural elements, and striking one can result in major structural damage or serious injury. Our scanning helps avoid these hazards.
-
Absolutely. We scan multi-storey buildings, commercial sites, warehouses, rural structures and residential homes. Whether you're cutting a small core hole for plumbing or preparing a large commercial fit-out, we provide precise results for any job.
-
Depth varies depending on concrete thickness, density and reinforcement layout, but in most cases GPR can scan between 150mm and 400mm. For thicker slabs, we adapt our equipment and scanning methods to achieve the clearest results possible.
-
No. Our scanning is completely non-invasive and does not mark, pierce or interfere with the concrete surface. It is clean, safe and suitable for operational sites where work cannot be disrupted.
